The Challange
This special Church is located in the heart of a private girls boarding school, which houses students from around the globe, so Church Heating Specialists had to ensure the right heating system was installed. Abbots Bromley Church had issues with cold spaces within the place of worship and high running costs. As this was a Grade 1 listed building it was vital we came up with a solution that had the correct amount of heat and control throughout the building that kept with the rules and regulations of a Grade 1 building. The main challenge with this project was the time frame in which we had to complete the works, the building was used by both the school and community, so we had only 2 weeks during the school holidays to complete the works.
The Solution
Church Heating Specialists created a` plan to remove the existing heating system which had a very limited heat output, we carried out a heat loss calculation to determine the right amount of heat that was needed for the needs of the building. There was a 2-week window when the school was shut so all the old church heating system needed to be removed and replaced with a new efficient and effective church heating system. Installing the right amount of heat wasn’t the issue but how it was to be installed was. The church had some old wooden panels fitted around the church so it was decided to have new fabricated brackets made that will support the new church radiators and also to have them all powder coated to blend in with the church. The old church boiler was replaced and moved position. The new condensing boiler was installed in the vestry area along with a new sink and base unit. All the new church controls were also re-positioned and installed in a black supply to ensure all wiring was well hidden. The new church heating project took just 8 days coupled with a warm and even church heating system.
