Leaky Boiler at Deane Parish Church, Bolton!
The Challange
The Solution
A spec was submitted to remove all the existing boilers and to install new twin high-efficiency boilers back in the existing boiler room. As the church planned to make this area more usable, the boilers were installed close together on a low loss header to save on space. The main church heating was via cast iron radiators and pipe work that ran around the church and all of which was in good condition. The plan was to install any new heating via a plate to plate barrier heat exchanger to separate the two systems while maximising the new church boilers potential. The existing flue boost and ducting were removed and replaced with new smaller flue pipes which were terminated through any existing holes. This was to minimise on faculty to core new holes in the church. The gas supply was upgraded along with a new circulation pump. All the existing cast radiators and pipes were cleaned with Fernox sludge remover and the water tested for cleanliness afterwards. All works were guaranteed to the church to be done in 5 days ensuring the church could still have their service on a Sunday. With a guarantee and warranty of 5 years, the church now has peace of mind and a company on board who can attend to there every need when required.
Feedback
“Yes, we were very happy with the engineers and their work, thank you. And thanks again for lending us your space heaters which got us through some cold months while awaiting official faculty approval!” – Parish Office
