New Boiler Installation at St. Leonards Church,

Greater Manchester

The Challange

The Parish Church of St Leonard is the oldest church in Greater Manchester. It still has Romanesque carvings dating from the Norman church of 1100. Middleton born  Cardinal Thomas Langley, Prince Bishop of Durham, came back to Middleton and paid for a new church to be built. This he consecrated in September 1412.  Just over a century later, the lord of the manor, Sir Richard Assheton, extended the church and added the clerestory. This is pretty much the church we have today.
With the church being a historical building, many of the heating systems were dated, creating a cold atmosphere within the Church. Heating the congregation at St. Leonards Church, Greater Manchester was a priority for them and Church Heating Specialists were happy to help them to create a warm, welcoming place for worship.

The Solution

St. Leonards Chuch, Greater Manchester contacted Church Heating Specialists with complaints of cold drafts in the alter/worship area. Church Heating Specialists then conducted a free appraisal and quote for the work needed, once we had reviewed the issue within the building, we found the best solution was to update the boilers and radiators to create a warm ambience within the Church. Our expert heating engineers installed two high spec boilers into the basement of the church, replacing their old heating system. This was done within a short specific time frame with no disturbance to the structure or historical appearance of St. Leonards Church.
