St. Lukes Church, London

St Luke’s church contacted the UKs number one church heating specialist after having issues with the previous contractor. The church had spent a lot of well raised funds only to be let down with the heating design and performance. We attended church and spent around 5 hours calculating the church heat loss and requirements of the church, looking at the newly installed system and what the issues was. A full report was put together and the newly installed system was switched off due to what we determined to be an un-safe installation. 

The existing contractor had made various mistakes from incorrect controls, pipes and boilers incorrectly installed and leaks left in the current under floor heating system. A plan was put together to try and re-use as much of the existing system as possible to keep the cost down but to install the church heating system correctly. Most of the existing plant room was stripped out and started again along with all the non-required wiring circuit. The contractor had even installed twin flues so close to each other that the boiler combustion was mixing and causing the boilers to make slight explosions on ignition. The whole system was placed out of action for 3 weeks until all the required works could be done. The new church heating system was now all in place giving the church a warm place to worship and most of all a safe place to worship.
