St Marys Church, Kiddlington, Oxford

St Marys Church in  Kiddlington, Oxford, contacted the Church Heating Specialist with the challenge to design them a new boiler system to fit inside the current outhouse, whilst also pleasing the local conservation and English heritage. The existing boiler system was made up of an old pressure jet floor standing boiler which had come to the end of its life. The current boiler room which houses the boilers did not comply to current regulations, so all of this needed to be taken into consideration.

The plan was to remove the run down boiler and replace it with two new boilers installed on a frame and rig to ensure there was no physical fixings to the building fabric. The old flue would be removed and replaced with 2 new smaller outlets to the rear of the building. This would ensure they could not be seen passing public. The whole system would be split via a barrier heat exchanger ensuring the church heating would not become over pressurised while the new boilers would be sealed and clean. The fan assisted radiators around the church would all be serviced, stripped down and cleaned to give the maximum heat output.

The work was completed in record time, and the church is now set for a warm heating system for the coming winter period.
