The Challange
St Marys church contacted the church heating specialist after getting some bad advise from local heating contractors. They was advised to change the church boiler and controls but didn’t do a simple heat loss calculation to correctly size the boiler.
The original submitted plan was rejected by the heating consultant at the diocese who advised the church to contact us. We attended church and discussed with the members what they was looking to achieve in regards to running cost, hours of usage and comfort conditions. A plan and design spec was put together to install a new commercial Oil fired boiler correctly sized to the church volume.
The Solution
The Church pump was changed and the whole church heating system flushed out. An added filter on the heating system was installed to help keep the water clean. All the existing controls was changed and these was moved into a more user friendly position for the church members so they didn’t need to go into a dark dirty old church boiler room to switch on the heating. All works was done in just 5 days allowing the church to have a nice warm Sunday service.
