St. Vincent de Paul, Bristol

St Vincent’s  in Bristol contacted the church heating specialist after the successful heating installation of Holy Trinity church down the road. This non grade listed church had an old floor standing boiler complete with under sized pumps and radiators. A design was to correctly size the radiators needed for the building and replace them using a like for like system to minimise any faculty issues.

The old church boiler was replaced with a new Valliant wall hung condensing boiler and added new filters to ensure the system’s water stayed clean and clear. A new circulation pump was installed and the whole systems was connected to a new Wifi smart control unit. This meant the church could now control the heating system from the church office or smart phone from any location.

All the old fan convectors in the church were replaced, and after completing a heat loss calculation the correct size heaters were subsequently installed. All the existing pipework was re-used and split into a new 2 zone system. This allowed the church to heat the building separately from the hall heating system. The walls needed to be patched up and painted as part of our works where the old heaters had been. All the existing electrical supplies was also removed and replaced with new isolation switches to bring the whole installation back up to current regulations. All works took just 5 days using 4 heating engineers and 1 electrical engineer, this was to ensure the church could still be used for its Sunday service.

Fr Tom – “Thank you all for the new heating system, The test will be the winter months but I can tell already the performance of the new system is far better than the previous units.”
