Westoe Baptist church in South Shields, Newcastle contacted the UK’s number one church heating specialist after their existing boiler failed its annual safety inspection. The church heating boilers needed new fluing system and with an estimated cost of £4,000 but our specialist engineers calculated that it made more sense to put this cost into a better more efficient heating system. 

It became apparent that the current church heating system was under sized after we worked out a heat loss calculation on the building. The church heating system required a zonal system to allow the main worship area and the ever growing pre-school area to have independent heating systems. Currently the church could change over the heating system via manual valves but this meant having to go into the church boiler room each and every time. 

The new church heating proposal was to install twin boilers providing 200kw of heating on a split zone system all of which could be controlled from any smart phone, tablet or PC. Two new condensing wall hung boilers were installed in place of two old floor standing boilers. The new church boilers will provide more storage space in the church boiler room and also provide that much needed reduction in running cost. The old church heating system was drained down during the half term break allowing the whole heating to be turned off. During the tight deadline slot the new church heating system was installed and recommissioned, leaving the church warm and balanced ready for the pre-school return.
