Newport is a University city in Wales and is about 13 miles to the East of Cardiff.  It lies on the River Usk and is the third-largest city in Wales.  The city has been a port since the medieval times, it’s not as busy as it used to be, and the city relies on its manufacturing and engineering industry.

There is plenty of historical significance in the city, and this can be clearly seen in the architecture, especially with the churches.  The well known Cathedral is located opposite Newport Castle, and there are many beautiful churches and church buildings.
