The organ, although providing a vital service to the community, was out of action for a short while when it needed refurbished a few years ago, as damage from the church heating system resulted in some pipes having to be replaced.  The problem has since been resolved, with the installation of a dehumidifier.Featuring nearly 2000 pipes, the massive organ requires 2 services a year in order to keep it functioning correctly, and being valued at almost a million pounds, the instrument is a finely tuned machine, that has been lovingly played by Church organist Adrian Flower since he was 15 years old, and it’s still as crystal clear now as it was all those years ago.
