Church needs to raise £45,000 to repair heating system
St John the Evangelist Church, in Knypersley are desperately trying to raise £45,000 to repair their church heating system which suffered water damage last year due to the celar flooding. It couldn’t have happened at a worse time, winter had well and truly set in, and Reverend Darren Fraser has been forced to hold Sunday services at a local school.
The current heating system just wasn’t fit for purpose, There are copper pipes that run along the floors in the church and they can get very hot, which is dangerous especially to young children. The Diocese of Lichfield are currently reviewing the church’s case, and all fingers are crossed for some good news.
The church have already raised £over £10,000 which is a little under a quarter of their target. Church warden Reginald Gordon is grateful to the school for allowing them to use their building during this difficult time, but is hopeful to get the church up and running again as soon as possible. With the wedding season building, it is more important than ever to get the church heating system operational once again.
