We had completed a number of church heating projects in the London area, and our customers were more than happy to recommend our services to Handcroft Chapel. And it’s a good job they did, as the church was in desperate need of repair, especially the boiler room which had become flooded. The church had also recently seen the addition of a building extension, so we certainly had a lot of work to do.
The team of engineers quickly went to work, firstly by digging out a new sump pit and pumping the excess water out. Then it was time to replace the old church boiler with brand new ones and plate to plate heat exchangers were installed to bring the system up to date with modern standards. Ventilation was increased to the boilers, which increases combustion and therefore the efficiency. The team discreetly installed small box line ventilation ducts under the flooring which went from the boilers to the outside.
After pressure testing, some weak points in the pipework were identified, replaced and re-pressurised. All of the work was completed in record time, and the project manager Eric Obui was so impressed with how efficient, professional and tidy our team were, that he has awarded us the annual maintenance contract.
