Sleaford Church Making Things Toasty

St Denys’ Church in Sleaford is currently raising funds to help towards the installation of a brand new, solar-powered church heating system. But instead of a regular, traditional system with boilers and radiators, the church warden Anne Smillie-Pearson and vicar Rev Philip Johnson have opted for a more direct approach.

Replacing the large, ugly 1800’s cast iron radiators, will be direct electric convection heaters running along the underside of the actual pews themselves, meaning the heat isn’t wasted, and goes exactly where is is needed – to the worshippers. The system will run from the church’s existing solar system which was previously installed a few years ago.
The system will cost around £9000, and with only a further £3000 to raise to reach their target, the warden and reverend are confident they will raise to total in just a short few months. This will save the church a significant amount of money, the annual heating bill alone is nearly £20,000 – and it’s still cold!

We wish the church all the best of luck in raising the last remaining funds, and are calling out for any donations to help them reach their goal.
