St Mary’s Church in Benfleetis is appealing for help to raise much needed cash to fund the repair of their church heating system. The system is in dyer need of crucial maintenance and replacement components in order to hold events such as weddings throughout the year.
The Grade 1 listed building is believed to be over 1000 years old, and has already had nearly £200,000 of investment raised to renovate the interior. In the harsh winters, many of the congregation, especially the elderly, are unable to attend. Parishioners are keen to bring the church heating system up to date, and in doing so will be able to help serve the community all year round.St Mary the Virgin Church, in High Road is appealing to everyone to dig deep and reach out with donations, as the heating system repairs are essential. The local community have already contributed generously, so the target is in sight, it just needs one final push to get to the finish line.We wish St Mary’s Church the very best of luck in raising the funds.
