Uttoxeter Church Raise Money With a Concert

Rangemore village church near Uttoxeter received a much needed helping hand from Denstone College’s musicians.  Rev Les Ree has been trying to raise funds to help repair the dilapidated church heating system.

The church located in a small village between Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham is a 150 year old building, and the heating systems is almost as old!  Sunday service has seen a decrease in attendees, and the congregation is desperate to raise the numbers again. The 150 strong crowd came to support the College’s jazz swing band, and managed to not only raise the roof, but also £1300 in donations to help contribute towards the church heating.  Organised by Anne King, the event was a huge success, and means the church are well on their way to reaching their goal.

The Church has been short of cash, and simply do not have the funds to pay for the urgent repairs.  Even in the summer, the church is still very cold, never mind the freezing temperatures they experience in the winter time.  And the Reverend feels this is the reason for the dwindling numbers.

If you too would like to contribute towards helping the church reach its goal and make a donation, or even fund-raising ideas, please call Rev Rees on 01283 810615.
